Framsenteret har gleden av å kunngjøre lanseringen av den 15. utgaven av Fram Forum. Det årlige engelskspråklige magasinet samler de ferskeste forskningsresultatene og spennende historier fra polarområdene. Magasinet er en sentral arena for formidling av kunnskap og innsikt fra norske og internasjonale forskere, og retter seg mot alle som er opptatt av klima, miljø og bærekraftige løsninger i nord og sør.
Årets utgave byr på varierte artikler om alt fra klimautvikling og havis til dyreliv og samfunnsutvikling i Arktis og Antarktis. Leserne får innsikt i pågående prosjekter, forskerportretter og fascinerende reportasjer fra feltarbeid under ekstreme forhold. Fram Forum 2026 løfter også frem viktigheten av internasjonalt samarbeid og tverrfaglig forskning for å møte de store utfordringene i polare strøk.
137 ansatte fra 39 institusjoner/forskningssamarbeid, og 11 land inkludert Norge, har bidratt med tekst til årets utgave. I tillegg kommer fotografer, illustratører og grafikere. Totalt har nærmere 200 personer vært engasjert i utgivelsen.
Magasinet er tilgjengelig fra og med fredag 20. mars i trykt utgave, og digitalt på www.framforum.com fra 19. mars klokken 18.00.
Vi inviterer journalister, studenter, lærere og alle med interesse for polarforskning til å utforske årets utgave og la seg inspirere av kunnskapen og engasjementet som deles.
Launch of Fram Forum 2026
New edition highlighting research news from the Arctic and Antarctic
The Fram Centre is pleased to announce the launch of the 15th edition of Fram Forum. This annual English-language magazine brings together the latest research findings and fascinating stories from the polar regions. The magazine serves as a key platform for sharing knowledge and insights from Norwegian and international researchers, catering to everyone interested in climate, the environment, and sustainable solutions in both the north and the south.
This year’s edition offers a wide range of articles covering everything from climate developments and sea ice to wildlife and societal changes in the Arctic and Antarctic. Readers will gain insights into ongoing projects, researcher profiles, and captivating reports from fieldwork conducted under extreme conditions. Fram Forum 2026 also emphasises the importance of international collaboration and interdisciplinary research in addressing the major challenges facing polar regions.
In this year’s edition, 137 staff from 49 institutions/research collaborations and 11 countries, including Norway, have contributed texts. In addition, photographers, illustrators, and graphic designers have participated. In total, nearly 200 people have been involved in the publication.
The magazine will be available online from Thursday, 19 March 18.00, and in print from 20 March. We invite journalists, students, teachers, and anyone interested in polar research to explore this year’s edition and be inspired by the knowledge and passion shared within its pages.
A dedicated launch event will be held at the Fram Centre on 20 March at 12:00.
